It Goes,
but it could Go Better.
These are the most common problems
people have when the player is installed and basically
running, but something seems amiss.
- Solid White Characters,
or Characters with Digital Junk for Skin.
This was more common with version
4.10.35 and earlier of the player,
and has been fixed for most systems
with version 4.10.38 and above.
There is still a known issue with
certain GeForce 2 graphics cards combined with Windows 98se,
however in that case, upgrading
DirectX to a more modern version than the one which comes
with Windows fixes the problem.
General Fixes
- Always be sure you have
the latest graphics drivers for your graphics card and operating
system. In some rare cases, very new or Beta drivers may
have problems which older more established drivers don't.
- Try upgrading
DirectX. This shouldn't cause any existing software
to malfunction, as DirectX is backwards compatible, but
we can't guarantee it. So, this one comes with an "At your
own risk" warning.
- Choppy Sound / Sound Breaks
Up.
As of version 4.10.40 of the player,
we're still seeing (hearing) choppy or broken sound on some
computer / soundcard / operating system combinations.
In particular, Windows 98se together with
old or very low-end sound cards
seems to have the problem.
We are currently working on this
issue.
