The Haptek Player usually requires you
to be in either 16-bit or 32-bit color mode.
To change your settings, go to the Windows
Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel, and then click on the Display
icon. Next, click the Settings tab near the top right of window.
Then, from the Colors selection box, please choose 16 or 32 bit
color mode.
Note: a small number of
machines actually requires you to be in 24-bit color for VF3 to work properly,
so simply changing your display settings to something else in general,
will work just fine.
I get a
message saying "Your version of VirtualFriend 3 is not compatible with
this page..."! But I have the latest version of the Haptek Player.
This is a known bug in the Haptek Player,
and we are actively working on the fix. On some computers that are either
too slow or too fast, JavaScript (how the player communicates with the
web page) ends up being faster then the plugin can load. This error might
also be caused by outdated software on the part of the web developer who
has made the page. VirtualFriend 3 is the old name for the Haptek Player.
"Line ###:
Error: Automation server can't create object."
This is an old bug caused
by outdated software used by the author of the webpage you are trying to
view. Please ask the web author to upgrade.
